SMALL PACKAGE SHIPPING AND LABELING

UPS, FedEx, and other small package or LTL Trucking Carriers can deliver cargo to Samson for further delivery to you in Alaska.

It is critical to instruct the trucker or small package carrier to “Deliver Attention the Consignee” precisely as follows and ensure there is a shipping label on each piece/carton/pallet/etc.

Samson Tug and Barge has the following rules relating to small package shipments. These rules are in place to protect you as the shipper and to ensure the smooth operation of our business:

FedEx does not allow us to return packages after we have received them. If a FedEx package arrives that is not clearly marked, we will leave it with FedEx so that it may be returned to the sender.

UPS, on the other hand, does allow us to ‘return to sender’ after we sign for delivery. We will accept all UPS packages at the time of delivery. If the packages are not clearly marked with the customer name and destination, we will send them back to UPS at the earliest opportunity. When we return UPS packages to the sender, we will maintain a record of the tracking number and the date the package was returned.
